Spitz Mediterranean — December 29, 2024 — 6622 N Landmark Dr. Ste. B-170. Park City, UT 84098
We’d just come off the mountain after our fourth day in a row of skiing. I was hungry like I hadn’t been hungry in a good while. Doug and the kids wanted to go to a Mexican place we liked, but when it was closed I wasn’t sorry we ended up at my choice. Spitz.
I went for the Doner Basket because it looked like the most jam packed way to get a whole love of real food. It’s a mix of salad and fries (I got both sweet potato and regular) topped with a beef and lamb, tzatziki, feta, pepperoncinis, onion, green pepper, cucumber, tomato, crispy garbanzo, falafel ball, olives, fried pita and hummus.
I’ve already admitted I was very hungry. Never-the-less. Holy smokes.
The lamb and beef were tender and well seasoned. The fries were crunchy and salty. Really hit the spot. I didn’t add the balsamic dressing because there was plenty going on with the feta and hummus. The hummus was very good on its own. I loved the combination of rich gyro meat and bright pepperoncinis. The lettuce was crisp. Which I appreciated extra given it was winter in the mountains. I loved the fried chickpeas. Could have popped those like candies. My one complaint is the falafel ball that was added to the tip top of the bowl. It was a bit mealy and the inside a bit undercooked.
When I asked the kids how they liked it, and if they were still disappointed they didn’t get Mexican, Henry said, “I like them the same. But this place won’t give me diarrhea.”
There you go.
The decorations were really fun. Lots of bright colors and spray painted art on the walls.
My nickname since childhood is Mermaid, and it was really nice to finally have a bathroom identified for me. It’s the little things.
