It’s February. And for some that means chocolates and hot dates. Maybe your reality is better than fiction, but for the rest of us (I still love you with all my heart, dear husband), epic love stories are unbeatable.
There are a few that I just keep coming back to. Because who doesn’t love that feeling of falling in love?
- THE BLUE SWORD by Robin McKinley : Published in 1982 and still topping my list.
- SPINNING SILVER by Noami Novik : Our heroine here is pretty rad.
- STARDUST by Neil Gaiman : Maybe not a classic love story. But she’s a STAR! 😉
- PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen : I’m sorry, but, it’s Mr. Darcy. How could I not? If you haven’t read this you really should. Give yourself a few pages to get into the old language.
- EDENBROOKE by Julianne Donaldson : Hum. Another regency romance. Was love just better back then or do I need to revisit this list? I maybe have been reading too much women’s fiction and fantasy novels lately…
I need recommendations. I need love. Send me your list!!
xoxo, M
